One of our top tips for a Mother of the Bride or Groom is to make a list, especially the week of the wedding. Day by day what do you need to do, whether it be a nail appointment, running table decorations to the venue, final dress fitting etc. If you have it all written down in front of you, you can tick it off as you go and make sure you don’t miss a thing.

October Weddings.
We are in October and what a beautiful month to get married. Did you know in medieval England October was one of the most popular months to get married in. This is because the harvest had finished and shooting season had started so there were lots of fresh meat, perfect for that wedding feast.
Faux Fur.
Faux Fur is absolutely gorgeous in autumn/winter so why not finish of your wedding outfit in style by adding a faux fur wrap or coat.
Velvet.
Now lets discuss different fabrics you can wear to an autumn/winter wedding. For me, the first one has to be velvet and we have some lovely velvet suits available. Our feature image for this blog is a gorgeous Joseph Ribkoff suit. Suits and tailoring is still a massive trend and I think a really modern twist to a wedding outfit.
Lady In Red.
If red is your colour then we have the perfect dress for you! This beautiful Veni Infantino dress has just arrived in store! Don’t miss out, book your appointment today.
Trousers/Jumpsuit
I have said this many times but that is only because it is true, weddings are changing, they are not as traditional as they used to be and that is exactly the same when it comes to Mother of the Bride or Groom outfits.
You will be pleased to know when Becky was buying for Spring/Summer there were a few of these options of jumpsuits and trousers. It’s not all about the dresses.
Florals Are Forever.
As the saying goes in The Devil Wears Prada – “florals for spring, groundbreaking” but if something isn’t broke don’t fix it. When I think of spring the first thing that comes to my mind are all the flowers coming into bloom and how beautiful my garden looks so I think it is the most perfect inspiration when designing a Mother of the Bride or Groom dress.
Orange and Pink
The first trend is that we are seeing a lot of the colour orange and the colour pink.
When it comes to colours some people will say I cannot wear orange or pink but what we say here at Anne Furbank is you can wear all the colours its just finding the right shade of that colour. So when you come in and we try to put an orange dress please do not dismiss it, there will be a reason why we pulled it.
I love the psychology of fashion and clothes so I looked into the meaning of wearing the colours orange and pink.
Orange means optimism and happiness
Pink means love and compassion.
So why wouldn’t you want to wear these two colours to a wedding?
