In the 1950’s weddings became more elaborate, dresses were now made from silk or taffeta. The style of dresses became more aline, fitted top and full skirts.
Over the next couple of weeks I want to take you back in time and see how the Mother of the Bride fashions have evolved. 1940’s – World War 2, during this time weddings became much more subdued, the mother of the bride or grooms dresses reflected that. The dresses were practical and usually made out of wool with muted colours.
One of our top tips for a Mother of the Bride or Groom is to make a list, especially the week of the wedding. Day by day what do you need to do, whether it be a nail appointment, running table decorations to the venue, final dress fitting etc. If you have it all written down in front of you, you can tick it off as you go and make sure you don’t miss a thing.
